We use two categories of cookies:
Essential cookies — These are required for the app to function and are set automatically when you log in. They maintain your session so you stay authenticated while using the app. These cookies cannot be disabled without preventing you from using the app. If you wish to decline the use of these essential cookies, you cannot use this app. By logging in, you accept the use of these essential cookies, which are necessary for the core functionality of the app.
Optional cookies — These cookies are used only for Google Analytics and only set if you accept our cookie consent banner or configure your preferences in the cookie preferences page (accessible when logged in). See the Analytics section below for more detail.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with the app. We only collect basic page view data — we do not use enhanced tracking or collect any additional behavioural data. Google Analytics uses cookies (such as _ga and _ga_<ID>) to distinguish sessions. These cookies are only set after you have accepted our cookie consent banner; if you decline, no analytics data is collected. Data collected by Google Analytics is processed by Google LLC in accordance with their Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time by withdrawing your cookie consent, installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by disabling cookies in your browser settings.
What We Collect
We collect email addresses, full names and profile pictures from your Google account when you login using your Google account. We do not collect any other personal information from your Google account (e.g. contacts, Drive, email content). We also collect the photo data you take using the app and the date/time they were taken. We do not collect any other personal information or data from you.
How We Use Your Data
We use any collected data strictly to provide the gallery functionality and group experience. We do not sell or share your data with third parties and we do not use it for any advertising or marketing purposes. We only use your data to enable the core features of the app. We use your Google account data to identify you and allow access to groups you're a part of. Your name and profile photo may be visible to other users in the groups you're a part of, but your email address is not shared with other users in the groups you're a part of.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can revoke access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account settings. Revoking access stops us from verifying your identity. You will be immediately logged out, and you will not be able to access your past groups or photos until you re-authorize the application.
Photos captured are uploaded to our storage servers on 1and1 IONOS. Any photos taken are stored securely and are only accessible to you and those you share them with (those you're in a group with). Photos taken are not revealed to anyone until the reveal date/time set by the group creator, at which point they become visible to everyone in the group. By using the app you acknowledge and agree to this mechanic of delayed access to photos. We do not use any photo data for any other purpose than to provide the core functionality of the app, and we do not share it with any third parties.
Right to be Forgotten
You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. To exercise this right, please contact us at contact@acol.dev. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and take appropriate steps to delete your data from our servers/systems.
Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. We will make a reasonable effort to notify you of any significant changes to this policy. The date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised. By continuing to use the Service after any changes to this policy, you agree to the updated terms of the policy. If you do not agree to the updated policy, please stop using the service immediately.
